AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN 1
Summary
Maintains and repairs automated warehouse equipment like conveyors and sensors, using electrical schematics and basic mechanical skills to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for maintaining the optimal performance of the automated system and its integrated automation components and controls.
· Diagnose system faults, implementing timely resolutions, and ensuring continuous operational efficiency.
· Practice proactive measures to reduce system downtime.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and other technical documentation to perform repairs as directed.

Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance activities as directed.

Escalates breakdowns and system outages acting as a key liaison between warehouse operations, automation providers, and USCS Engineering to help resolve errors.

Participate in continuous improvement teams as needed.
· Adapt work schedules as required to ensure timely completion of multiple projects and support organizational priorities.

Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with automated equipment as directed.
· Effectively multi-task across competing responsibilities while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely completion of deliverables.
· Demonstrate a team-oriented and collaborative approach by working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
· Demonstrate capability in operating forklifts and boom lifts, including safely performing work at elevated heights.

Perform secondary job tasks as assigned. This may include but not limited to, required paperwork, battery maintenance, warehouse maintenance, equipment maintenance, general housekeeping, and other preventative maintenance tasks as directed.

Capable of working independently and with limited supervision.
· Utilize a network-based Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system to manage work orders, ensuring accurate documentation, status updates, and completion in accordance with established processes.
· Track and oversee the use of inventory used on preventative maintenance and repairs.

What We Are Looking For:
The Ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications.
· Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
o Strongly preferred:
§ Advanced technical training in maintenance
§ Hold an elevated USCS Maintenace position currently with completion of USCS Automation training on basic courses
· Experience:
o Two years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment

Basic electrical skills including but not limited to troubleshooting and replacing/adjusting cables, sensors, reflectors.

Basic mechanical skills including but not limited to troubleshooting and replacing/adjusting chains, rollers,

Must be able to read / understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Must have strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
