The Automobile AC Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing servicing, and installing air conditioning and climate control systems in vehicles. The role involves inspecting AC components, identifying faults, performing maintenance, and ensuring optimal cooling performance while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in vehicle air conditioning systems.
* Service, repair, and maintain automotive AC systems and components.
* Inspect compressors, condensers, evaporators, hoses, and related components.
* Detect and repair refrigerant leaks using appropriate testing equipment.
* Recharge and recover refrigerants in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
* Perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicle AC systems.
* Test electrical circuits, relays, thermostats, sensors, and control units related to air conditioning systems.
* Replace defective compressors, fans, belts, filters, switches, and other AC components.
* Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
* Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate service records and job reports.
* Advise customers on AC system maintenance and repair requirements.
* Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Knowledge of automotive technology, refrigeration, air conditioning repairs.
* 1-2 Years of proven experience as an automotive AC Technician.
* Proficiency in AC system diagnostic tools and equipment
* ND. Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or Vocational Training in Automotive Technology, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or related field
