Hawkins Automotive is seeking a dependable and detail-focused Automotive Detailer. This position is about more than washing vehicles. Our detail department plays an important role in how customers view our dealerships, service departments, and brand.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, pays attention to details, and understands the importance of returning every vehicle clean and professionally presented.

Responsibilities

• Wash, vacuum, clean, and detail vehicle interiors and exteriors.
• Prepare customer vehicles following service or repair work.
• Prepare new and used vehicles for customer delivery.
• Clean windows, upholstery, carpeting, wheels, exterior surfaces, and other vehicle areas.
• Inspect completed vehicles and correct missed areas before delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe detail work area.
• Use detailing chemicals, equipment, and supplies according to dealership safety procedures.
• Coordinate with service, sales, and management to meet daily priorities.
• Move customer and dealership vehicles safely.
• Maintain consistent quality while working efficiently.

• Prior automotive detailing experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, bending, reaching, washing, vacuuming, and using detailing tools and supplies.
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required because this position involves moving customer and dealership vehicles.

Paid Skills Assessment

Selected candidates may be invited to complete a paid, hands-on detailing skills assessment using a dealership vehicle.

The assessment will evaluate:

• Overall quality of the completed detail
• Attention to detail
• Organization and work process
• Safe handling of vehicles, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to follow instructions
• Reasonable completion time

The assessment is expected to take approximately two to three hours. Quality is more important than rushing. Candidates will receive the same instructions and evaluation standards and will be paid for all assessment time. Lunch will be provided.

After the assessment, the Detail Manager will review the vehicle with the candidate and discuss the position, performance expectations, compensation, and possible next steps.
