AWS Data Engineer with Talend

Summary

Build and maintain cloud-native data pipelines and ETL workflows using AWS, Talend, and Snowflake to modernize a global financial organization’s analytics platform.

Join an international data transformation initiative for a global organization modernizing its data platform and analytics capabilities in the cloud. The project focuses on building scalable, cloud-native data products and robust ingestion pipelines that enable reliable, business-critical data processing across multiple systems.

You will be part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for designing and developing modern data solutions leveraging AWS, Snowflake, and Talend. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape architecture decisions, mentor team members, and contribute to data platform evolution.

Work Mode: Hybrid (Warsaw) / Remote

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services including Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and SNS,

  • Build and maintain Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions ensuring sequential processing, idempotency, and data consistency,

  • Develop scalable data ingestion and transformation workflows using Talend,

  • Design and optimize analytical data models within Snowflake,

  • Create robust solutions for incremental loading, error handling, monitoring, and alerting,

  • Develop and optimize complex SQL-based transformations and database logic,

  • Work with Aurora PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning,

  • Define and maintain infrastructure using AWS CDK and CloudFormation,

  • Support CI/CD processes and engineering best practices within GitLab environments,

  • Troubleshoot data platform issues related to connectivity, networking, and operational reliability,

  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation activities,

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Expectations

  • At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles,

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SNS),

  • Proven expertise in Talend and large-scale ETL/ELT development,

  • Strong understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) patterns and incremental data processing,

  • Experience working with Aurora PostgreSQL or other PostgreSQL-based solutions,

  • Practical knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehouse architecture and optimization techniques,

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python,

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation,

  • Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD processes and software engineering best practices,

  • Understanding of monitoring and observability tools including CloudWatch,

  • Experience with technical documentation, solution design, and code reviews,

  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within distributed teams,

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving,

  • Fluent English (minimum B2/C1 level).

Nice to Have

  • Experience building Data Products in modern data platforms,

  • Previous experience in financial services, banking, or large-scale enterprise environments,

  • Mentoring or technical leadership experience,

  • Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives.
