AWS Full Stack Applications Architect (5734)
Summary
SMX seeks an AWS Full Stack Applications Architect to design, build, and govern secure, highly available cloud-native applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB), overseeing React/Angular front ends and Python/Node.js back ends. The role blends hands-on coding with reference architecture, IaC/CI-CD governance, and mentoring, and requires an active Secret clearance.
- Formulate scalable reference architectures using AWS core services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB) conforming to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Oversee or co-create modern front-end interfaces (React, Angular) and robust back-end APIs/microservices (Python, Node.js).
- Design performant relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) data storage layers alongside event-driven data pipelines.
- Advocate for and implement automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Lead code reviews, troubleshoot complex system bottlenecks, and mentor full-stack engineering cohorts on development best practices.
- Manage a project team developing AI apps
Required Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years focused on cloud architecture and distributed application design.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Proficiency with front-end technologies such as React or Angular.
- Proficiency with back-end languages such as Python or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services including Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform) and CI/CD tools.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and optimize internal and external communications, with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and analyze project scopes to recommend improvements
- A detail-oriented self-starter and problem-solver, capable of working with minimal supervision to produce high-quality deliverables
Desired Skills & Experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Certified Developer.
- Experience supporting federal or DoD environments.
