Azure DevOps

We are seeking a skilled Azure DevOps & Legacy Migration Engineer to drive the modernization, migration, and controlled decommissioning of legacy systems (including Coda and PIMS platforms) operating on unsupported Windows Server and SQL Server environments. In this role, you will combine cloud automation expertise (Azure DevOps, IaC) with deep database and system-level troubleshooting—analyzing complex dependencies, executing secure database migrations to Azure, validating data integrity, and systematically powering down legacy infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

• Legacy Dependency Mapping & Analysis: Analyze legacy database objects, Agent jobs, stored procedures, views, linked servers, logins, and permissions across SQL Server 2012 / legacy environments.

• Database & Infrastructure Migration: Execute end-to-end database migrations from legacy SQL Servers to Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instance, or modern SQL Server instances.

• Workload Tracing & Performance Validation: Perform SQL profiling/tracing, query workload analysis, backup/restore, export/import, and data integrity validations prior to cutover.

• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build CI/CD pipelines and provision target cloud landing zones in Azure (Azure DevOps, IaC, Key Vault, RBAC, Networking, Monitoring).

• System Decommissioning: Execute controlled, documented decommissioning plans for legacy Windows Server (2012/2016) hosts and associated application components.

Requirements

• Experience: Hands-on experience leading database migrations, legacy system modernizations, and cloud infrastructure automation.

• Core Tech Stack & Ecosystems:

  • Legacy Database & System Engineering: SQL Server 2012 / legacy SQL environments, Windows Server 2012/2016, backup/restore, export/import, SQL tracing/profiling

  • Database Migration & Analysis: Dependency mapping (stored procedures, jobs, linked servers, logins), data integrity validation, schema migration

  • Azure Cloud Platform & DevOps: Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines), IaC (Terraform / Bicep), Azure SQL / SQL Managed Instance, Key Vault, Azure Networking, RBAC, Azure Monitor

• Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with legacy web/application tiers (Apache, IIS).

  • Prior project experience with Coda or PIMS financial/ERP software.

• Recognized Certifications (Highly desirable):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
