Azure Operations Architect (m/f/d)
Summary
Senior Azure/hybrid platform architect at Skaylink (part of Vodafone) who designs landing zones, networking, identity, security and DR for German enterprise customers, advises clients, leads major incidents, and sets IaC and operational standards. Remote within Romania (Cluj-Napoca office option), built on Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, Entra ID, Bicep/Terraform and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
What you will do:
- Own Azure and hybrid platform architectures, including landing zones, networking, identity, security, resilience, and recovery.
- Advise customers on architecture, cost optimization, roadmaps, and technical decisions throughout the platform lifecycle.
- Lead complex escalations and major incidents, driving root-cause analysis and sustainable architectural improvements.
- Design hybrid environments across Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, Windows Server, Azure Arc/Azure Local, and hybrid identity and networking.
- Define and review Infrastructure as Code, automation, reference architectures, and operational standards with engineering and service teams.
- Act as the senior technical reference for the Romanian team and support customer workshops, presales, and transition into operations.
When you fit in with us:
- 5 years of Azure architecture and operations experience, including production environments.
- Strong hybrid ITexperience with VMware/Hyper-V, Windows Server, Azure Arc/Azure Local, networking, and Entra ID.
- Good knowledge of Azure landing zones, security, governance, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, using Bicep/Terraform and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
- Experience with managed services and customer advisory, including technical workshops, complex issues, and mentoring engineers.
- StrongEnglish skills, structured problem-solving, and willingness to start around 06:00 EET, participate in the on-call rota, and travel occasionally to Germany.
- German (B2+) is a big plus.
- Microsoft 365, Intune, Copilot, Power Platform, FinOps, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Entra Global Secure Access.
- Certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-802, SC-300, or SC-500.
