Back-end engineer (4+ yrs) building the technology stack for HotStreak Fantasy, a sports fantasy product, with a focus on database design, system scaling, and clean scalable code. The core stack includes Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Redis, GraphQL, Sidekiq and RabbitMQ.
Compensation: $100k – $180k • 0.0% – 2.0%
**Responsibilities** * Build out the technology stack powering HotStreak with an emphasis on database design, system scaling, and all-around development. * Write clean, scalable code with a high degree of autonomy * Contribute to product and design discussions * Learn new technologies and frameworks as needed * Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization **Skills/Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering or Computer Science is required; applicants with graduate degrees are also welcome. * 4+ years experience * Experience with Ruby on Rails, Postgres/ActiveRecord, Heroku, Redis, GraphQL, SideKiq, RabbitMQ, real-time data processing, are all a plus * Expert understanding of object-oriented design, polymorphism, inheritance * Enjoy coding and solving complex problems in clean, concise and extendable ways. * Comfortable in early-stage, fast-paced, high-growth environments * Interest in and/or experience with Sports and/or Gaming are ideal but not required **Comp/Benefits** * Commensurate with experience * Potential for equity upside for the right candidate **EOE** HotStreak Fantasy is an equal opportunity employer.
