Backend Developer

At Aduna, we’re building the backbone of the global API economy — connecting telecom operators, cloud platforms, and software innovators to enable the next generation of digital communication services.

As a Software Developer on the Traffic Plane team, you will be a key technical contributor for the systems connecting Aduna to CSP Service Exposure APIs, aggregating and exposing Aduna APIs to Application Service Providers. You’ll contribute to architecture decisions, lead complex engineering work, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, SRE, Security, and external CSP counterparts.

This is a hands‑on technical role with meaningful influence on system design and engineering standards — no people management, but active participation in technical discussions, mentorship of junior engineers, and cross‑team collaboration are expected.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Contribute to the technical direction and architectural decisions for Aduna’s API aggregation
  • Participate in and lead design reviews for API aggregation: Service Exposure connectors, Authentication and Authorization, observability, logging, security and metering.
  • Apply and help evolve technical standards and best practices; evaluate new technologies and propose improvements to the API aggregation.
  • Identify risks and contribute to architectural improvements addressing scalability, resilience, and operational complexity.

Complex Problem Solving & Delivery

  • Tackle complex technical problems spanning Aduna services, CSP Service APIs, and external partners; contribute to incident investigations and drive corrective actions to completion.
  • Optimize end‑to‑end request flows, identify performance bottlenecks, and evolve the architecture for high throughput and low latency.
  • Collaborate with Product to translate business goals into technical solutions; improve developer productivity through better tooling, CI/CD, and automation.

Mentorship & Technical Culture

  • Mentor engineers on system design, operational excellence, and technical decision making.
  • Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, design feedback, knowledge sharing, and promoting rigor in testing, observability, and security.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years building and operating backend services, distributed systems, or large‑scale integrations in production
  • Experience as a Senior Developer or equivalent technical role at a technology company
  • Track record of delivering meaningful technical initiatives with availability, performance, and security requirements
  • Experience integrating with telecom service API
  • Background in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong expertise in backend and integration design: service‑to‑service communication, data consistency, idempotency, and resiliency patterns (retries, circuit breakers, backpressure)
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, or Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), Kubernetes, Service Meshes like Istio, Caches like Redis and message brokers (Kafka or similar)
  • Expertise in optimizing ELK Stack (Elastic Search, Log Stash, Kibana)
  • Hands‑on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps (Terraform, FluxCD, GitLab CI or similar)
  • Strong understanding of observability, SLOs, capacity planning, and performance engineering
  • Expertise to identify and solve performance bottlenecks for high throughput systems
  • Excellent communication skills across engineering, product, and executive audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with telecom industry
  • Experience with API management platforms, identity systems, and policy enforcement
  • Exposure to OpenAPI, CAMARA, or similar standards‑driven ecosystems
  • Impactful Work: Shape cutting‑edge digital platforms that millions will rely on
  • Innovative Culture: High ownership, collaboration, and learning
  • Growth & Flexibility: modern tools, and work‑life balance

Our Offer:

  • Employment contract providing security and transparency
  • Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office in Łódź (Poland), 2 days remote - your balance matters.
  • Private medical care, life insurance, and a Multisport card to support your health and lifestyle
  • Unlimited paid time off - because we trust you to manage your time responsibly
  • A collaborative environment with high ownership, innovation, and room to grow

Aduna is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are passionate about driving the next wave of innovation in telecommunications.
