Backend Developer
Summary
Builds and maintains backend services in Java/Kotlin for warehouse logistics, integrating terminal devices and enterprise systems using Spring, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
As a Backend Developer in the Terminal Squad, you will build backend services that help make warehouse operations faster, smarter, and paperless across the STAR Ecosystem.
You will work on reliable, scalable, and secure solutions connecting terminal devices, warehouse applications, and enterprise systems – directly supporting digital logistics processes and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services for terminal applications and warehouse operations
Build clean, testable, and scalable code supporting inbound, outbound, inventory, and operational processes
Develop APIs and integration services connecting the STAR Ecosystem with enterprise platforms
Contribute to secure, performant communication interfaces, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns
Work closely with Product Owners, QA Engineers, Mobile Developers, Solution Architects, and other squad members
Take part in agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, and backlog refinement
Support quality through automated tests, troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Experience in backend development in enterprise environments (at least 4 years minimum)
Strong skills in Kotlin or Java and experience with the Spring Framework
Good knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture, preferably with Kafka
Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
Practical experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, monitoring tools, infrastructure-as-code, or logistics/warehouse domain knowledge
