Backend Developer (PHP)
Summary
Backend developer who independently owns the backend of e-commerce projects and corporate portals: architecture, technical decisions, and integrations with payments, CRM/ERP/1C, marketplaces, and delivery services. Core stack is PHP 8.x with Laravel/Symfony, Magento 2, WordPress/WooCommerce, MySQL, Redis, Docker, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities:
Independently managing backend development for e-commerce projects and complex corporate portals.
Designing backend architecture and making key technical decisions.
Selecting the most suitable platform and technology stack based on the client’s requirements and business objectives.
Developing and maintaining PHP-based backend systems, ensuring high quality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
Implementing and maintaining integrations with external systems, including payment services, CRM/ERP/1C systems, marketplaces, and delivery providers.
Designing and implementing APIs and system-to-system integrations.
Taking full ownership of the backend side of the project, from architecture and development through launch and ongoing support.
Independently estimating technical tasks, identifying potential risks, and proposing implementation approaches.
Communicating directly with clients in English, clarifying requirements, discussing technical solutions, and aligning on implementation details.
Must-haves:
Experience in backend development for 3+ years.
Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x, with a solid understanding of OOP and SOLID principles.
Commercial development experience with Laravel and/or Symfony, including building custom portals and integration solutions.
Hands-on experience with custom development on Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce.
Experience with WordPress / WooCommerce, including enhancing existing solutions, developing plugins, and implementing integrations.
Experience designing and integrating REST APIs / GraphQL.
Experience integrating external systems and services, including payment systems, CRM/ERP/1C, marketplaces, and delivery services.
Strong experience with MySQL/MariaDB, including SQL query analysis and optimization.
Experience using Redis and other caching mechanisms.
Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with PrestaShop / OpenCart, Shopify (apps, APIs, integrations), and 1C-Bitrix (corporate portals).
Experience working with high-load e-commerce projects and headless/composable commerce architectures.
