Backend Developer (Ruby, Node JS, or Python)
Summary
Builds and maintains backend services in Ruby, Node.js, or Python, focusing on clean code, REST APIs, and database optimization for a media-focused product.
- Write "clean", well designed code in Node JS, Python or Ruby
- Produce detailed specifications
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow industry best practices
- Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience in a backend programming language
- Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing REST APIs
- Experience in common third-party APIs (google, facebook, etc)
- Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
- Fluency with source control in git and github
