Backend Development Engineer（full-time）
Salary: $35 – $45 per hour
About the role
Fun Meet pte. ltd. is seeking a talented Junior Backend Development Engineer to join our growing technology team. This is a full-time position based in the Geylang East Central region of Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems and applications that power our platform. You will work collaboratively with experienced developers to build scalable, efficient, and reliable backend solutions whilst gaining valuable experience in software development practices.
What you'll be doing
Developing and implementing backend features and functionality using modern programming languages and frameworks
Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards
Collaborating with senior developers and cross-functional teams to design and architect backend solutions
Testing and debugging applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring code quality and performance
Participating in code reviews and incorporating feedback to improve code quality
Contributing to the development of APIs and services that support frontend applications
Assisting with database design, optimisation, and management tasks
Documenting technical specifications and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
What we're looking for
Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR)
Available to start as soon as possible
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, Node.js, C#, or PHP
Foundational understanding of database design and SQL, including experience with relational databases
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming and design patterns
Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
Preferred experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
Preferred experience with containerisation tools such as Docker
Preferred familiarity with Agile development methodologies
