In this role, you won't just be pushing code; instead, you’ll be a core architect behind our mission-critical recurring billing platform, e-commerce store, and order fulfillment systems. Working side-by-side with our Engineering Lead, you’ll dive into high-impact challenges, tackle complex data architectures, and build slick, rock-solid APIs that keep our entire ecosystem running at peak performance. - Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems, database schemas, and APIs powering our recurring subscription billing platform, sales quoting/ordering engines, and the Brivo Store.
- Develop backend solutions to support ordering and fulfillment for Sales Orders across external and internal order systems.
- Lead database schema design, data modeling, and SQL query optimization to ensure high availability, data integrity, and performance.
- Maintain and enhance workflows for connected business systems, including Shipping, Finished Goods Inventory, Billing Reports, and Finance operations.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, rigorous QA testing, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews, system troubleshooting, and continuous architecture improvements.
- 5+ years of hands-on database experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend engineering and API development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proven track record building, maintaining, and troubleshooting real-world production systems.
- Must be based in (or relocating to) Austin, TX for full-time, on-site work.

The compensation for this full time salaried role ranges between $130,000-$150,000. Individual compensation packages are based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, training, and market conditions.
