As a Backend Engineer (Microservices / API) at KBC Technologies in Dubai, UAE, you will take full ownership of designing, building, testing, and scaling distributed microservices and high-throughput transactional backends. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass developing REST and SOAP integrations, managing API gateways and token-based security, implementing Redis caching layers, building applications with Laravel-PHP, orchestrating containers via Docker Swarm, and optimizing PostgreSQL database performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure low-latency data flow and high system availability. Working in a fast-paced technology environment in Dubai, you will drive backend reliability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices and high-throughput transactional backend systems.
• Build and maintain robust REST and SOAP integrations with internal and third-party enterprise services.
• Configure and manage API gateways, authentication token management, and secure authorization protocols.
• Implement high-performance caching strategies utilizing Redis to minimize database load and reduce response latency.
• Develop enterprise backend applications utilizing Laravel-PHP and modern PHP design patterns.
• Orchestrate, deploy, and manage containerized microservices clusters utilizing Docker Swarm.
• Write highly optimized PostgreSQL database queries, stored procedures, indexes, and schema designs.
• Collaborate proactively with technical leads, mobile engineers, and frontend developers during agile sprints.
• Maintain comprehensive API documentation utilizing Swagger / OpenAPI specifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience specializing in backend development and distributed systems.
• Strong technical proficiency in Laravel-PHP development and microservices architectural patterns.
• Mandatory hands-on operational experience with Docker Swarm container orchestration.
• Solid practical experience with Redis caching, API gateways, token management, and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
