Backend Engineer
You will design and build complex, large-scale systems for high-throughput payment applications. You will use infrastructure to solve scalability challenges, investigate root causes, support your code in production, and develop tools or contribute to open source. You will use AI and LLM tools for development, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design complex large-scale systems for high-throughput applications
- Leverage infrastructure to solve large-scale engineering problems
- Develop tools and contribute to open-source projects where possible
- Investigate root causes and support production code
- Use AI and LLM tools for code development, reviews, testing, and documentation
Requirements
- Have 4+ years of professional Java experience, or excellent skills in Scala, Python, Go, or other general-purpose programming languages
- Learn additional programming languages as needed
- Have experience with NoSQL databases and distributed caches
- Understand data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Understand concurrency and distributed computing
- Hold a degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or have 5+ years of equivalent SaaS platform development experience
- Have business-level English or Japanese
- Have hands-on professional experience with AI and LLM tools
