Summary
PT. ASTRO is hiring a Backend Engineer in Indonesia to design and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services, optimize database queries, integrate third-party services (payments, email, notifications), and monitor/respond to production incidents. Requires 2-4 years of backend experience in Node.js, Go, Java, or Python with relational databases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
- Optimize database queries and improve system performance
- Integrate third-party services (e.g., email, notification, calendar, and payment providers)
- Collaborate with frontend and QA teams to ensure smooth feature delivery
- Investigate and fix bugs reported from staging and production
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
- Monitor system health, logs, and alerts, and respond to incidents when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Node.js, Go, Java, or Python)
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and query optimization
- Familiar with REST API design and API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
- Good understanding of authentication, authorization, and basic security practices
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
