Backend Engineer
Summary
Backend engineer at PT Giandhi Dunia Rekreasi, fully on-site in SCBD, South Jakarta, who designs, deploys, and maintains scalable APIs, event-driven services, and database models end to end. Core stack: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL/MySQL, AWS, Docker, and AI coding tools (Codex, Claude Code).
Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable APIs, backend services, and event-driven workflows.
Develop database models and integrations for business-critical systems.
Own services through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Improve performance, reliability, and security.
Review code, guide architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
5+ years of professional backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.
Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
Experience with event-driven architecture and third-party integrations.
Practical experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD.
Experience with automated testing, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
Ability to explain system design decisions and technical trade-offs.
Experience using Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or equivalent AI coding tools for development, testing, and debugging.
Ability to verify AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability, and handle sensitive data appropriately.
Full WFO at SCBD, South Jakarta.
Preferred Qualifications
Infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Experience with payments, inventory, fulfillment, or high-volume transactional systems.
Experience with autoscaling and zero-downtime deployments.
Experience integrating LLM APIs, structured outputs, and tool calling.
