About JobFinder AI
JobFinder AI finds relevant openings for job seekers across company career sites and job boards, scores each job against what the candidate is looking for, and helps them apply. We're a small, founder-led team — you'll talk to the founder directly, and decisions happen in hours, not committees.
The role
You'll own the backend that collects hundreds of thousands of job postings, keeps them fresh, and turns them into matches and applications for our users. Your code reaches real users within days of writing it.
What you'll work on
- APIs and background workers in TypeScript and Node.js
- Postgres: schema design, query performance, and migrations on tables with hundreds of thousands of rows
- Ingestion pipelines that pull jobs from job boards and company career sites, then clean and deduplicate them
- Queues and scheduled jobs for matching, emails, and payments
- Monitoring, logging, and fixing production issues when something breaks
What we're looking for
- 0–2 years of experience — internships and strong projects count
- Solid TypeScript or JavaScript on Node.js, or strong backend experience in another language
- Comfortable with SQL and relational databases
- You write code that's easy to read, and you test it before shipping
- Clear written communication
Nice to have
- Python, for scraping and data scripts
- Experience with Linux servers, process managers, or Docker
- Something you built that real people actually use
Why you'll like it here
- Fully async, fully remote — work whenever you do your best work, from anywhere with 4+ hours of overlap with IST
- No surveillance: no timesheets, no screenshots, no keystroke trackers
- Salary posted upfront — no lowball games, no 6-round interview gauntlet
- You own features end to end, from design to production
- Learning budget for courses, books, and conferences
- 20 days PTO you're actually expected to take, plus your local public holidays
How we work
- Async-first — written updates, daily standups
- Small team, flat hierarchy — no Jira theater
