Role Overview

We are looking for a Python Backend Developer with strong experience building scalable backend applications, REST APIs, and database-driven services. The candidate will own backend development from requirements and design through deployment and production support.

Pharma or Life Sciences domain experience is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python.
• Build REST APIs and integrate with internal applications and third-party systems.
• Develop business logic, data-processing workflows, and database integrations.
• Design database schemas and optimize SQL queries and application performance.
• Implement authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure coding practices.
• Write reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support application deployment through CI/CD pipelines.

Mandatory Skills

• 6-9 years of software development experience, with substantial hands-on Python backend development.
• Strong Python programming, object-oriented design, exception handling, and modular development.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL skills and relational database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience integrating APIs, databases, and external services.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development practices.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
