Assists bartenders by restocking supplies, cleaning the bar area, and supporting drink preparation and customer service in a restaurant setting.
Job Summary:
Barbacks are primarily responsible for making sure the bartender has everything they need to make our guests’ bar dining experience delightful. Maintaining the quantity of items needed at the bar by tracking inventory and restocking the bar. They are attentive to our guests and assist with attending to their needs when the Bartender is unavailable.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support Bartenders: Assist bartenders in preparing and serving beverages by replenishing supplies, such as ice, garnishes, and glassware, in a timely manner.
- Set Up and Break Down: Prepare the bar area for service, including cleaning and polishing glassware, restocking drink ingredients, and arranging bar tools and equipment. After service, ensure proper cleaning and storage of all items.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Regularly clean and organize the bar area, including counters, floors, shelves, and equipment. Ensure all surfaces and utensils meet hygiene standards.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the bar manager or supervisor to ensure an adequate supply of beverages, ingredients, and supplies. Retrieve items from storage areas as needed.
- Customer Service: Assist bartenders in serving customers by taking orders, delivering drinks, and providing exceptional customer service. Respond to customer inquiries and requests promptly and courteously.
- Assist in Bar Operations: Collaborate with bartenders to prepare and serve specialty cocktails, as well as operate beverage equipment, such as blenders and coffee machines.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations to create a safe and responsible environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the management promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with bartenders, servers, and other staff members to ensure efficient communication and seamless operations during peak hours and events.
- Learn and Grow: Stay updated on beverage trends, recipes, and bar techniques. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
