Hours: Part time; flexible to meet the needs of the child/adolescent

and family

SUMMARY

The Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) provides clinical direction and treatment interventions to the treatment team within the home, school and community while teaching the child/adolescent and family/caretakers how to implement interventions. The BSC sessions focus on developing and implementing behavior support plans tailored to a child's/adolescent’s specific needs. These sessions are designed to help children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges in their home, school, or community environments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS

  1. Conduct assessments to identify behavioral concerns and underlying triggers.
  2. Develop individualized behavior plans with strategies to address the challenges identified in the assessments. Update the treatment plans, as required by IBHS guidelines.
  3. Ensure any stimulus materials match client treatment goals.
  4. Provide BSC services to the child and parent/caregiver.
  5. Collaborate with parents, teachers caregivers and staff to provide training and guidance on implementing behavior interventions.
  6. Collect data, analyze data and monitor progress of the child/adolescent.
  7. Ensure data collection is collected accurately.
  8. Track progress of the child/adolescent, making necessary adjustments to strategies, and reinforcing positive behaviors.
  9. Equip both the child/adolescent and their support system with effective strategies to manage behaviors and promote long-term success in daily functioning.
  10. Responsible for ensuring that interventions are applied with consistency and fidelity, as well as monitor outcome information.
  11. Complete mandatory trainings.
  12. Attend supervision per IBHS guidelines.
  13. Maintain compliance with IBHS regulations.
  14. Ensure confidentiality of treatment and files of the child/adolescent.
  15. Maintain professionalism in both written and verbal communication.
  16. Understands and adheres to established Excentia Human Services policies and procedures.
  17. Keep informed of new developments in the field of behavioral health.
  18. Maintain licensure requirements.
  19. Attend supervision per IBHS guidelines with the IBHS Clinical Director for Individual Services.
  20. Ensure all program rules and regulations are followed.
  21. Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
  22. Provide crisis and family support, as needed.
  23. Develop the Behavior Health Technician (BHT) sessions and review clinical protocol.
  24. Work cooperatively with families, caregivers, and team members to provide children/adolescents with the best care and treatment.
  25. Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  26. Submit billing accurately and timely.
  • Attend team meetings, as needed
  • Other job tasks as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Meet with the IBHS Clinical Director for Individual Services regularly.
  2. Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  3. Maintain confidentiality as per HIPAA and procedural safeguards.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  2. Office time with exposure to toners and ink cartridges;
  3. Seasonal displays may include hay, leaves, flowers, pine needles, etc.;
  4. Noise level can be high at times.
  5. Potential exposure to communicable childhood diseases and/or other communicable diseases.
  6. Child/adolescent may carry fluid or blood-borne pathogens.
  7. All sessions are in person; this is not a work from home (remote) position.
