About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking enterprise focused on blockchain integration, is looking for a skilled Blockchain DevOps Engineer to join their operational team in Randburg, Gauteng, ZA. This role requires managing and automating the infrastructure that supports our blockchain applications and networks. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our deployment pipelines, node operations, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in DevOps practices, combined with specific experience in managing blockchain nodes and infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in streamlining our development-to-production workflows and maintaining a robust operational environment for our blockchain solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for blockchain applications and smart contracts.
- Automate the deployment, configuration, and management of blockchain nodes (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger).
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) hosting blockchain nodes and services.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for blockchain networks and infrastructure.
- Ensure the security of infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Optimize infrastructure performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in DevOps engineering, with a focus on infrastructure management and automation.
- Experience managing and deploying blockchain nodes and networks.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of networking principles and security best practices.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies and concepts is essential.
