Job Overview\:

Responsible for restoring vehicle surfaces to OEM finish standards using advanced automotive refinish techniques. This role supports final quality by identifying, repairing, and refinishing paint defects using both single-stage and basecoat/clearcoat solvent-based systems. The technician must be capable of working independently and within a team environment to ensure all vehicles meet Mercedes-Benz quality expectations prior to release.

Responsibilities\:

  • Perform automotive paint rework to restore vehicle surfaces to OEM finish standards

    Spray and blend automotive coatings including single-stage and basecoat/clearcoat solvent-based systems (Spot rework or large panel paint experience required with proper blend techniques)

    Identify, diagnose, and repair paint defects such as runs, sags, dirt, scratches, and coverage issues

    Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing including sanding, masking, cleaning, and conditioning

    Mix and prepare paint materials according to manufacturer specifications and process requirement

    Operate and maintain spray equipment, including spray guns, air systems, and related tools

    Ensure proper film build, color match, and overall finish quality

    Perform polishing, buffing, and final finishing operations as required

    Follow all safety procedures, including mandatory respirator use during all spray applications

    Maintain a clean and organized work area, including booth and equipment upkeep

    Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat defects

    Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve concerns

    Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization

    Accurately document rework activity and follow standard work instructions

    Perform other duties as assigned
