BSA AML Analyst

BSA/AML Analyst reviews alerts, investigates suspicious transactions, and ensures compliance with anti-money laundering regulations for a U.S. bank.
Primary Function
The BSA/AML Analyst is responsible for assisting the BSA/AML Officer in maintaining the Bank’s
BSA/AML Compliance Management System. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to
become proficient in BS/AML and OFAC Compliance. This role is pivotal in identifying, assessing,
and mitigating financial crime risks throughout the customer lifecycle from onboarding through
ongoing monitoring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain strict confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and always handle sensitive
information with professionalism.
• Review and research monitoring system alerts and unusual activity reports as assigned.
• Investigate potentially suspicious transactions and document findings.
• Assist with customer reviews and escalation as needed.
• Monitor various customer and transaction activities for potential BSA/AML concerns.
• Perform initial and post Customer Identification Program (CIP) reviews.
• Perform initial and post Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Beneficial Ownership reviews.
• Assist in the preparation and review of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
• Support watchlist screening reviews and documentation.
• Ensure required records are maintained accurately according to regulatory requirements.
• Assist with management reports, audit requests, and examination preparation as
requested.
• Participate in special projects, system testing, data validation and process improvement
initiatives as requested.
• Provide real-time internal support to internal staff members.
• Complete all assigned training within the assigned timeframe.
• Keep informed of current laws and regulations to assist in managing compliance with Bank Secrecy
Act (BSA), Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR), USA Patriot
Act, Office of the Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and other Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
requirements.
