The Budget Analyst prepares, submits, and executes budgets for hydroelectric power projects and civil works. They monitor expenditures, track obligations, and ensure financial activities align with regulatory controls and annual work plans.

About the Position: Performs procedural and technical work involving preparation, submission and ongoing execution of assigned portion of the Operations and Maintenance budget encompassing several independent operating multiple-purpose hydroelectric power producing civil works projects as well as dredging, Plant Replacement and Improvement Program (PRIP), and Emergency Management.

Research, compile, and summarize data concerning personnel salaries and expenses and similar object class and line item information needed for formulation of budget estimates.

Monitor and track obligations and expenditures for assigned functions throughout the execution phase of the annual operating budget.

Verify obligations and expenditures occur on a timely basis in accordance with the annual work plan and regulatory controls, and are within amounts programmed.

Recommend adjustments or transfer of funds between object class and line item accounts under the same appropriation or allotment when funds are needed to cover increases in obligations or expenditures that fall within established limits.
