Budget Analyst

The purpose of the position is to compile, correlate, and consolidate individual estimates; and determinewhether obligations, expenditures, and requested allotments are within funding limitations in theapproved budget of organizations within a medical facility.

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Conducts limited studies and analyses to develop required data and information for reporting purposes; and prepares administrative reports. Prepares documents needed to process budget estimates. Writes reports that detail the purposes for which funds were obligated and expended. Performs analyses of budget requests, prepares justification statements, and compiles data to be used for forecasting obligations. Reviews, edits, and consolidates annual budget estimates for assigned organizations and programs into a single budget request. Identifies and analyzes trends in the receipt, obligation, or expenditure of funds to ensure that objectives of the annual financial plan are being met on a timely basis; and that funds are available and being properly and effectively used to support program objectives.
