Your Impact

The Budtender creates a welcoming, knowledgeable, and compliant customer experience. Reporting to the general manager and/or assistant manager and working under the daily direction of the Shift Lead, the Budtender assists customers, processes transactions, supports inventory controls, and maintains store standards.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

Customer Experience, Sales & Product Knowledge

  • Greet customers promptly and ask appropriate questions to understand their preferences, interests, and
    budget.
  • Help customers navigate available products and make informed purchasing decisions without highpressure sales tactics.
  • Provide relevant recommendations and communicate approved promotions, loyalty programs, and
    featured products.
  • Maintain knowledge of product categories, brands, formats, potency information, pricing, and
    promotions.
  • Use approved information to explain product characteristics, consumption methods, onset, duration,
    storage, and responsible use.
  • Do not make medical claims, guarantee product experiences, or encourage unsafe consumption.
  • Address routine customer questions and concerns and refer unresolved, sensitive, or escalated matters
    to the Shift Lead.

Point-of-Sale & Cash Handling

  • Verify customer eligibility, identification, transaction information, and purchasing limits before
    completing a sale.
  • Accurately enter products, quantities, prices, promotions, and customer information in the point-of-sale
    system.
  • Apply only authorized discounts and obtain approval for voids, returns, price overrides, or restricted
    transactions.
  • Count assigned drawers, handle cash accurately, follow reconciliation procedures, and report
    discrepancies.
  • Maintain control of the assigned register and never share system credentials.

Inventory, Order Fulfillment & Compliance

  • Accurately select and verify products for in-store, online, pickup, drive-thru, and other approved orders.
  • Assist with product counts, shelf verification, replenishment, and organized product placement.
  • Handle products securely and report missing, damaged, mislabeled, or inconsistent inventory.
  • Follow product movement, storage, hold, recall, return, and discrepancy procedures and never make an
    unauthorized adjustment.
  • Protect confidential information and report suspected diversion, theft, fraud, or security events.

Store Standards & Teamwork

  • Maintain clean, orderly registers, displays, pickup areas, restrooms, and employee work areas.
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, merchandising, and checklist duties.
  • Follow directions from the Shift Lead and assist other stations as customer flow requires.
  • Report to work on time, in the required uniform, and prepare for the assigned shift.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail, hospitality, sales, or customer-service experience preferred; cannabis experience is
    helpful but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional, and responsible demeanor.
  • Ability to learn product information, operate a point-of-sale system, and handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to follow procedures, accept coaching, manage multiple tasks, and work cooperatively.
  • Must successfully complete a post-offer background check and meet state licensing/credentialing criteria.

Additional Expectations

  • This is an on-site position at an assigned Crisp Cannabis retail location.
  • A flexible schedule is required and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, opening shifts,
    and closing shifts.
  • Regular attendance, transaction accuracy, and completion of assigned tasks and training are essential.
  • The Budtender has no supervisory authority and follows daily direction from the Shift Lead and
    management.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to strong cannabis odors and is frequently required to handle cannabis products. Exposure to environmental particles such as pollen and plant pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
