Business Analyst, Data - Customer Transformation, 6 month Contract

About the role:

As part of EnergyAustralis's Customer Transformation Program, we are hiring a Data Business Analyst who will play an important role working across a range of data initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting data-stream development for a new future-state data model
  • Working across the Customer Transformation Program Defining and documenting requirements
  • Understanding end-to-end data flows Data mapping / migration / lineage
  • ⁠Apply process-mapping techniques (SIPOC or similar) to understand data inputs and outputs across key Customer business processes, translating findings into reporting and data requirements for the future-state model
  • Working with technology and business stakeholders to translate the future-state architecture/model into deliverable requirements.

About you:

An experience Business Analyst with deep curiosity for data comfortable working across both the technical and business side of complex large transformations. Additionally, you will have most of the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) highly regarded.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data initiatives (data modelling, data platforms and pipelines etc)
  • Working knowledge of data architecture concepts (source systems, data warehousing/lakes, data governance) and how they shape requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and system requirements into clear documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence in presenting to senior leadership and governance forums
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Databricks, Dbt, Fivetran, AWS core services
  • Experience within utilities/energy industry and/or large corporate transformations (desirable).
