The Opportunity

Infinity Pro is seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts / Technical Business Analysts for multiple long-term contract opportunities within a Federal Government department in Canberra.

The positions support major ICT delivery and transformation initiatives across three project streams:
  • ERP Revenue System Uplift: Enterprise applications, revenue-related business processes, legacy system modernisation and business/system requirements.
  • Cyber Security Projects: Business analysis supporting cybersecurity initiatives, security-related business and technical requirements, stakeholder engagement and implementation.
  • ICT Fit-out: Business analysis supporting ICT infrastructure, technology fit-out, operational requirements and delivery activities.
Candidates with relevant experience in any ONE or MORE of these streams are encouraged to apply. Experience across all three is ideal but not essential.

We are particularly interested in experienced ICT Business Analysts who can work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects and delivery personnel to investigate business needs, analyse existing systems and processes, translate requirements into effective solutions and support implementation.

The work may involve reverse-engineering legacy applications, business processes and system functionality, particularly where existing documentation is incomplete or outdated.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Requirements analysis: Experience engaging business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, validate and document business and functional requirements, translating business needs into deliverable outcomes.
  • Business process analysis: Ability to analyse current-state processes, identify improvements, map future-state processes and support business and technology change.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Strong communication, workshop facilitation, negotiation, prioritisation and relationship-management skills across business and technical teams.
  • Business analysis documentation: Experience producing business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, workflows, business rules, traceability documentation, user journeys and solution artefacts.
  • Project delivery support: Experience with backlog management, prioritisation, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), operational readiness, transition to business as usual (BAU) and change adoption.
Relevant Project Experience

Recent experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • ERP systems, revenue or financial systems, enterprise applications and legacy application modernisation.
  • Cybersecurity projects, security-related requirements and ICT security transformation.
  • ICT fit-out, infrastructure upgrades, technology implementation and enterprise ICT delivery.
  • Complex government or commercial ICT transformation projects.
You do not need to have worked across all three project streams. We welcome strong Senior Business Analysts who can demonstrate the core capabilities in one of the above, together with relevant delivery experience.

Candidates should clearly demonstrate their personal contribution to previous projects, the challenges addressed, deliverables produced and outcomes achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned project, responsibilities may include:
  • Engaging stakeholders to understand business needs, identify requirements and translate these into practical technical and business solutions.
  • Analysing existing applications, workflows and operational processes, including legacy environments with limited documentation.
  • Facilitating workshops, managing competing priorities and coordinating requirements across business and technical teams.
  • Developing current-state and future-state process models, gap analyses, functional specifications and other business analysis documentation.
  • Working with architects, developers, testers and project delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Supporting backlog refinement, prioritisation, testing, UAT, implementation, operational readiness and transition into BAU.
  • Maintaining requirements traceability and supporting delivery outcomes that meet business, operational and compliance obligations.
Security: Must be eligible to obtain Australian Government Baseline security clearance. Australian citizenship is normally required for clearance eligibility. Existing Baseline, NV1 or NV2 clearance is advantageous but not mandatory at application stage.

Please apply through SEEK with your latest resume in Microsoft Word format, clearly demonstrating your relevant Business Analyst experience under each position.
