About the role
Responsibilities:
- Market Intelligence & Prospecting: Research biotech, pharma, and academic research institutions to map pipelines across cell and gene therapy (CAR-T, AAV, LVV, mRNA, etc.).
- Lead Generation & Qualification: Execute multi-channel outreach (email, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, phone) to target decision-makers (e.g., VPs of CMC, Directors of Process Development, Translational Medicine Leads).
- Inbound & Outbound Lead Management: Qualify inbound inquiries and lead initial discovery calls to understand client technical requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
- CRM & Pipeline Administration: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce/HubSpot, tracking account activities, contact data, and deal progress.
- Proposal & RFP Support: Collaborate with Proposal Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and proposal decks.
- Conference & Event Logistics: Support pre-conference targeted prospecting, schedule on-site meetings for senior BD leaders, and manage post-event lead follow-ups.
- Market Trends: Stay current on advanced therapy industry trends, regulatory changes (FDA/EMA), and competitor landscapes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field) required, advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience in sales, lead generation, inside sales, or client-facing roles (experience or internships within biotech/CDMO environments is a strong plus) with advanced degree, 2-4 years with BA/BS.
- Technical Aptitude: Baseline understanding of biomanufacturing processes, cell/gene therapy platforms, and cGMP standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to speak with technical and executive decision-makers.
- Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator preferred.
