PartsSource is seeking a high-performing Business Development Executive to lead new customer acquisition across the life sciences and laboratory services market. This is a true hunter role focused on prospecting, developing relationships, and closing new business opportunities with hospitals, laboratory networks, research institutions, healthcare systems, biotechnology organizations, and life science companies.
You'll own the entire sales cycle, from identifying opportunities and building pipeline to negotiating contracts and closing deals. Success in this role requires a strong consultative sales approach, the ability to navigate complex buying environments, and a passion for building new business from the ground up.

Territory Coverage: Candidates may reside anywhere within the United States. Travel is focused on customer meetings, industry events, prospecting activities, relationship development, and business growth initiatives throughout the United States.
About the Opportunity
As a Business Development Executive, you will focus exclusively on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities throughout the life sciences and laboratory market. This role is designed for a sales professional who thrives on prospecting, building relationships, creating opportunities, and winning new customers.
You will engage laboratory directors, procurement leaders, operations executives, research stakeholders, and healthcare decision-makers to understand their operational challenges and position PartsSource solutions as strategic business partners.
This role is heavily focused on growth, with approximately 60-70% of your time dedicated to prospecting, pipeline development, customer meetings, and opportunity advancement.
What You'll Do
Prospecting & Pipeline Development
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities across life sciences, laboratory services, healthcare systems, research organizations, and regulated environments
- Develop strategic territory and account plans focused on high-value target organizations
- Generate opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and CRM management
- Own the prospecting process from initial outreach through qualified opportunity creation
Consultative Selling & Needs Discovery
- Conduct discovery meetings with laboratory leadership, procurement teams, operational stakeholders, and executive decision-makers
- Understand customer objectives, operational challenges, compliance requirements, and procurement processes
- Position PartsSource solutions based on measurable business value and customer outcomes
- Translate customer pain points into strategic recommendations and solution alignment
- Develop trusted advisor relationships throughout the buying process
Deal Management & Closing
- Manage the full sales cycle from qualification through contract execution
- Lead pricing discussions, proposal development, and contract negotiations
- Address customer objections and remove barriers to purchase
- Drive opportunities to closure while maintaining strong customer relationships
- Balance multiple opportunities and sales cycles simultaneously
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, implementation, customer success, and account management teams
- Ensure successful onboarding and transition of new customers
- Communicate pipeline activity, forecasts, and market intelligence to leadership
- Share competitive insights and customer feedback to support continued market growth
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in business development, enterprise sales, strategic account management, or technical sales
- Demonstrated success generating and closing net-new business opportunities
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholder buying environments
- Proven track record of prospecting, pipeline generation, and revenue growth
- Experience closing opportunities ranging from $200K to $5M+
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and consultative selling skills
- CRM proficiency with disciplined forecasting and pipeline management
- Ability to work independently within a territory-based sales model
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling into life sciences, laboratory services, healthcare, biotechnology, diagnostics, research institutions, or regulated industries
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, healthcare procurement, compliance requirements, and operational workflows
- Experience with healthcare technology, healthcare software, SaaS, medical equipment, laboratory services, or service-based solutions
- Understanding of healthcare systems, clinical operations, and institutional purchasing processes
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Compensation & Earning Potential
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $175K+
- Base salary range $110K -$130K plus uncapped commission
