Business Development Lead

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Lead to own the business side of new ventures at AvaTrade, from opportunity identification and validation through launch and revenue generation. The role defines what to build and why, working alongside the Ventures build team in Technologies, which owns delivery. The Business Development Lead owns each venture's P&L from day one.

Responsibilities

· Identify and validate new offerings, markets, and business opportunities.

· Develop business cases, market assessments, financial forecasts, and commercial plans.

· Define venture strategy, value proposition, business priorities, and go-to-market approach.

· Own each venture's P&L from day one and monitor revenue, costs, and commercial performance.

· Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships supporting new ventures and market entry.

· Work alongside the Ventures build team in Technologies, defining the business what and why while the build team delivers.

· Drive implementation with the relevant business divisions and coordinate cross-functional dependencies.

· Manage several venture workstreams simultaneously with clear priorities, milestones, and execution discipline.

Requirements

· Proven experience in business development, venture building, or launching new products or markets.

· Demonstrated ability to take a new product, offering, or market from idea to revenue.

· Strong commercial judgment and experience building business cases and financial models.

· Experience with P&L ownership, revenue forecasting, and business performance management.

· Ability to lead cross-functional execution and manage several initiatives in parallel.

· Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

· Experience in brokerage, financial services, or fintech is an advantage.
