Business Development Manager

Posted Updated
Discussion

Commissionaires is looking for a Business Development Manager to grow our presence across the Greater Toronto Area, Central and South-Central Ontario. This role is about more than hitting a number. Every contract you close helps to support meaningful employment for veterans and others with a service background. It is not a line in our About page; it is the reason Commissionaires exists.

You will own a defined territory from prospecting through close, supported by a CRM-driven pipeline, a structured qualification process, and marketing support. You will also have a direct line to leadership, so your ideas about the market actually get heard.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT YOU'LL SELL

A focused portfolio, not an open-ended “anything security” mandate.

  • Uniformed security guarding, static and event-based.
  • Mobile patrol and alarm response.
  • Concierge and front-of-house services.
  • Safety Awareness, First Aid and AED compliance training, and related safety services.

WHO YOU'LL SELL TO

You will prospect and close business across Southwestern and South-Central Ontario, primarily with:

  • Commercial and residential property management.
  • Healthcare and long-term care facilities.
  • Education and other institutional campuses.
  • Industrial and manufacturing sites.
  • Retail and commercial complexes.
  • Municipal and public-sector accounts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the full sales cycle for your territory, from prospecting through close.
  • Build a qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, and networking at industry events, trade shows, and association functions.
  • Understand each client's security needs and put together proposals and pricing that show our value, not just our price.
  • Work the solution behind every deal, including pricing, margin, and contract terms, so we can deliver on both service quality and our wage mandate.
  • Present proposals to decision-makers and negotiate terms through to signed contracts.
  • Keep your pipeline and forecast data current and accurate in the CRM. This role is measured on consistent follow-through, not just relationship-building.
  • Work with our Operations team so new accounts are onboarded smoothly and stay satisfied long-term.
  • Keep an eye on the competitive landscape in Ontario's security services market and share what you're seeing with the team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A track record of hitting or beating sales targets, ideally in security, B2B services, or another relationship-driven sales environment.
  • Comfort managing a full sales cycle: understanding a client's needs, building a proposal, and negotiating a fair deal for both sides.
  • Good habits around CRM and pipeline management, so opportunities don't fall through the cracks.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, since this role involves regular travel to client sites.
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, sales, or a related field is an asset.

If you don't check every box above but think you'd be great at this job, we'd still like to hear from you. Bonus if you have existing relationships or experience in a business services environment, but it's not required.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Base salary of $75,000 to $85,000, plus uncapped commission.
  • Monday to Friday, based out of our Oakville office at 2947 Portland Drive.
  • Health, drug, and dental benefits, a DBplus defined-benefit pension plan, and an Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Paid vacation and a mission you can actually explain to your family at dinner.
  • A sales organization that invests in modern tools and process, so you're set up to succeed, not just handed a phone book.

THE FINE PRINT

  • This is a field-based role with regular travel to client sites across Southwestern and South-Central Ontario.
  • Occasional evening or weekend commitments for client or industry events.
  • Anticipated start date: October 2026.
  • Reports to the Director, Sales and Business Development.
