Business Development Manager for a Japanese interior design firm expanding into corporate office fit-outs in Singapore, driving new client acquisition and partnerships.

Monthly Salary: UP to $7,000 (Negotiable)

Working Address: Central Business District

Working Hours: 9AM - 6PM

Our client is a leading Japanese interior design & build firm with over 35 years of history in Singapore and a project portfolio spanning department stores, specialty retail, F&B and corporate spaces across Asia (Japan, Taiwan, China, Vietnam and Malaysia).

As the firm expands into the corporate office and workplace transformation market, they are creating a brand-new position for a hunter-type Business Development Manager to lead this expansion from the ground up.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Identify and develop new office fit-out, renovation and workplace transformation opportunities (full cycle: lead generation, pitching, negotiation, closing)

  • Catch office relocation and repositioning plans of Singapore-based corporates early, and position the firm ahead of the tender

  • Build referral networks with commercial real estate agencies, office leasing teams, tenant representatives, property/facility management firms, architects and consultants

  • Approach growth sectors in Singapore (example: logistics, healthcare/clinics and IT companies)

  • Prepare proposals and market insights, leveraging AI and digital tools

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience with a proven record of acquiring new clients and closing deals

  • Self-driven and able to work independently — this is a pioneer role with no existing pipeline

  • The incumbent is required to set own targets with an execution plan

  • Able to articulate own track record and sales approach with clarity and conviction

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Background in commercial real estate brokerage, office leasing or tenant representation

  • Experience in property/facility management, construction, interior fit-out, or sales into logistics/healthcare/IT sectors

  • Proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders
