Business Development Manager
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Pipeline Execution: Prospect, qualify, and close high-value B2B SaaS contracts across shipowners, ship managers, charterers, and port operators.
Consultative Technical Selling: Uncover operational bottlenecks (e.g., fuel inefficiency, manual reporting, crew management gaps, compliance risks) and demonstrate the ROI of our software platform.
C-Level Relationship Building: Engage directly with Managing Directors, Fleet Directors, Technical Managers, and Chief Information Officers across global maritime markets.
Maritime Ecosystem Engagement: Represent the company at major global maritime events (e.g., Nor-Shipping, Posidonia, SMM, Sea Asia) to generate qualified leads and stay ahead of regulatory shifts.
Deal Structuring & Negotiations: Lead commercial negotiations, RFP responses, proof-of-concept (POC) trials, and master service agreements (MSAs).
Cross-Functional Strategy: Work closely with Product Managers and Solution Engineers to translate customer feedback into software feature requests and long-term product roadmaps.
Qualifications & Experience
Domain Expertise: 3–5+ years in the maritime industry, either within maritime software (MarTech), vessel performance consultancy, or commercial shipping operations.
Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding ARR/quota targets in B2B enterprise SaaS sales.
Regulatory & Technical Literacy: Clear understanding of maritime compliance (CII, EU ETS, IMO regulations) and vessel telemetry/data workflows.
Commercial Acumen: Strong skills in enterprise contract negotiation, sales forecasting (HubSpot/Salesforce), and pipeline management.
