Business Development Representative (BDR)
Teamwork.com is an agentic PSA (professional services automation) platform that helps businesses win, plan and deliver projects more profitably. We connect projects, resourcing and financials in one place, so leaders get real numbers from real delivery, not guesswork, and can price work on purpose, deliver it for less, and grow margin over time. Our tagline puts it plainly: most tools track work, we make it profitable.
Project management tools can't manage money, so run delivery through one and you lose margin without ever seeing where. Finance-first tools capture the numbers, but delivery teams resist using them, so the data going in is bad and the numbers coming out are worse. Teamwork.com is built to do both: resourcing, financials and margin visibility captured as delivery happens, not bolted on afterwards, in a platform teams actually want to use.
We believe in hiring great people and look to ensure everyone has the best possible experience of work, every day. We strive to be open and transparent, humble and customer focused. And we thrive on curiosity, getting results and working together relentlessly to deliver excellence. We are a company of action, full of triers and doers: we try things, we make mistakes, and we learn from them.
We pride ourselves on doing right by our customers, working with brilliant people, and going above and beyond. Our personality is unmistakable: we work hard, take joy in our wins and each other's successes and important life events. And we care and support each other when life throws lemons. More than anything we embrace a straightforward approach to getting things done. We are fanatical about our customers, and when talent meets passion, success happens.
This is a hybrid role in Denver. We are based downtown and the position requires you to be in the office 3 days a week.
The opportunity
The role
- Find high-potential prospects, start real conversations, understand their problems, hand qualified opportunities to an Account Executive.
- Work buyer intent data (companies growing, hiring, expanding) alongside your own research and a clear point of view.
- Cold calls, LinkedIn, and email into ICP companies and personas.
- Your job ends at a clean, qualified handoff. The AE takes it from there.
- You'll be trained on the motion, not left to improvise.
Who you're selling to
- VPs of Operations, Directors of Project Delivery, COOs, agency owners
- Their problem is margin they can't see: unknown utilization, double-booked resources, projects that slip before anyone notices.
- The conversation is about delivery and profit visibility, not project management features.
Responsibilities
- Targeted outreach. Research-led emails and calls that sound like a person. Persistent, precise follow-up.
- Discovery and qualification. Real conversations about their operation, their margin and delivery challenges, and whether we fit.
- AE partnership. Vertical and persona planning, aligned priorities, clean handoffs. A meeting is qualified when the AE agrees it is.
- Signal reporting. When five prospects raise the same objection, or a competitor lands two accounts in your patch, we need to hear it.
- Data discipline. HubSpot is the source of truth. Accurate logging is how we know the motion is working.
Requirements
Prior sales experience is welcome, not required. We're hiring for aptitude as well as:
- Curiosity about how businesses make money, where agency margin leaks, why projects go sideways.
- Clear thinking and clear writing. Knowing when to pause on a call matters more than talking well.
- Resilience about rejection. Cold outreach fails a lot of the time. You ask yourself what can be adjusted to move the needle, and you test it out.
- Appetite for feedback. You'll listen back to your own calls with your AE and adjust.
- Comfort with software: HubSpot, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Surfe.
What good looks like
What good looks like
- Wanting the number without catastrophizing about it.
- Coachability over polish. First calls are rough for everyone.
- Writing that's short, clear, and specific.
- Persistence with pattern recognition. Version A underperforms, so you test version B instead of resending A.
Weekly rhythm
- Daily outreach across calls, LinkedIn, and email, plus the follow-up and qualification work it generates.
- One strategy session with your AE partner on pipeline and trends.
- Weekly 1:1 with your manager to review the week, plan the next, and discuss relevant topics.
Ramp
- Month 1: HubSpot fluency, the core pitch, high-volume outreach, one qualified meeting run end to end with an AE.
- Month 3: 8+ qualified meetings per month (the metric we measure). You know your audience and build a repeatable cold outreach motion.
- Month 6: 10+ qualified meetings per month, plus input on which messages and outreach methods are working.
