Business Development Representative
Description
At Hensley Legal Group, every client interaction is an opportunity to make a difference. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be one of the first people a potential client speaks with when they reach out for help—and your ability to listen, communicate, and guide them through the next steps can set the tone for their entire experience with HLG.
What you’ll love about this role:
You’ll work with people who are often reaching out during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Your role is to listen to their story, ask thoughtful questions, and help determine whether HLG is the right fit for their legal needs. When we can help, you’ll guide them through the intake process and toward becoming a client. When we can’t, you’ll help connect them with another attorney or resource who may be able to assist.
We’re looking for someone who is confident communicating with people, comfortable asking questions, and committed to following through. Legal experience is preferred, but it’s not required—we provide the training and support you need to learn the role and grow.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll serve as a key point of contact for potential new clients, including:
- Managing the intake process from a potential client’s first contact through signed agreement.
- Maintaining an ever-growing understanding of the types of cases HLG handles and the firm’s criteria for case selection.
- Managing an active lead queue and proactively engaging with a minimum of 25 leads each day.
- Answering and fielding incoming calls from potential clients.
- Making outgoing calls to individuals who submit online inquiries.
- Asking thoughtful questions to understand each potential client’s situation and determine whether their matter aligns with HLG’s case criteria.
- Completing intake questionnaires and entering accurate client information into the firm’s case management system.
- Sending intake paperwork and coordinating home visits or consultations when needed.
- Handling in-office consultations and providing potential clients with clear, general information about what they can expect based on their type of case.
- Following up consistently with potential clients who have not responded to calls or emails.
- Answering questions and providing a professional, compassionate experience throughout the intake process.
- Referring individuals we cannot assist to another attorney or firm that may be able to help.
- Maintaining accurate, timely notes and documentation throughout the intake process.
