We are a subsidiary of the American company Vallen (www.vallen.com), which is a leading global distributor of indirect materials to large international corporations with branches all over the world. We have been operating in the European market since 2014 under the IDG brand, in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, England and are still growing. We supply indirect materials to large international manufacturing companies.

We are looking for a skilled buyer/purchaser for one of our customers based in Emmen, The Netherlands.

This is a Fixed-term employment contract for 1 year, then indefinitely.

Role/Responsibilities

• Based on the customer site
• Daily exposure to site engineers
• Sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials for the customer
• Sending out orders, recording open orders, sourcing
• Telephone and email communication in Dutch and English, creating and strengthening business relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
• Communication with the accounting department/site managers
• Daily communication with colleagues from foreign branches in English
• Work in the purchasing/accounting system SXe.

Candidate Profile

• Secondary/university education
• Fluency in Dutch and English. Written and communication
• Experience in purchasing in an Engineering environment, min. 2 years.
• MS Office knowledge
• Proficiency using ERP systems i.e. SXe
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask, work to deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written
• Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
• Flexible approach to all areas of the role
• Excellent people skills with a focus on building and strengthening the client relationship
• A strong focus on continuous improvement and attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyse
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
