emagine is hiring a senior embedded C++ engineer in Ingolstadt to build the vehicle interface layer of an automotive infotainment platform: vehicle communication (CAN/CAN-FD, SOME/IP, BAP, ViWi), Car Business Logic, cluster services, and Infotainment ECU software on Linux, in an Agile/SAFe, ASPICE-driven setup with hybrid on-site presence.

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and integrate the Vehicle Interface layer connecting the Infotainment Platform with vehicle ECUs. The role covers vehicle communication, infotainment ECU integration, Car Business Logic and instrument cluster services within a complex automotive environment.

Location: Ingolstadt

Remote: is generally possible after the initial onboarding phase; however, a regular on-site presence of 1-2 days per week is preferred.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Develop and maintain vehicle communication solutions using CAN/CAN-FD, SOME/IP, BAP, and ViWi.

  • Implement and support Car Business Logic (Car_BL) across domains such as Climate, ADAS, Seats, Charging, Driving Profiles, Doors and other vehicle functions.

  • Develop and integrate Cluster Services for instrument cluster data provisioning.

  • Design, implement, and maintain software components for the Infotainment ECU

  • Create requirements, software designs, UML diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, debugging, root-cause analysis, software integration and release activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/SAFe environment.

Required Skills:

  • Programming:

    • Strong experience in C/C++ (C++17/20) development for embedded systems

    • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for build/test automation

  • Automotive Protocols:

    • BAP protocol and vehicle function logic.

    • ViWi services implementation.

    • SOME/IP communication.

    • CAN / CAN-FD signal and PDU communication.

  • Software Engineering

    • Unit test development and functional test preparation / execution

    • Code review, Software Integration and release management

    • Good understanding of infotainment system architecture.

  • Platform & Tools

    • Strong Linux experience (mandatory).

    • Comfortable with Git workflows

    • Knowledge of QNX, Android, and AUTOSAR is an advantage.

  • Processes:

    • Experience with ASPICE SWE.1-SWE.6.

    • Agile/SAFe methodology, Jira, and requirements traceability.

  • Language:

    • Fluent English required

    • German is a plus
