CAD Design Engineer
Summary
Designs and drafts mechanical components using AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and Siemens NX, reviews specs, and supports manufacturing for automotive steel-wheel production.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Solid Edge and Siemens NX.
- Review customer drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, fits and welding symbols.
- Support new product development, trials and design modifications.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Tool Room teams.
- Assist in resolving design, dimensional and manufacturing-related issues.
- Maintain drawing revisions, design records and technical documentation.
- Suggest improvements for quality, productivity and cost reduction.
Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- B.Tech. / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Automobile Engineering.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge and Siemens NX.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, angles, dimensions, limits, fits and tolerances.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T and Finite Element Analysis.
- Knowledge of presses, stamping, rolling, welding and machining processes.
- Understanding of sheet-metal components, dies, jigs and fixtures will be preferred.
- Good problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
- Experience in automotive components or steel-wheel manufacturing will be an advantage.
