CAD Design Engineer

Summary

Designs and drafts mechanical components using AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and Siemens NX, reviews specs, and supports manufacturing for automotive steel-wheel production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Solid Edge and Siemens NX.
  • Review customer drawings and technical specifications.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, fits and welding symbols.
  • Support new product development, trials and design modifications.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality and Tool Room teams.
  • Assist in resolving design, dimensional and manufacturing-related issues.
  • Maintain drawing revisions, design records and technical documentation.
  • Suggest improvements for quality, productivity and cost reduction.


Requirements


Qualification and Experience

  • B.Tech. / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Automobile Engineering.
  • 1–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge and Siemens NX.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, angles, dimensions, limits, fits and tolerances.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Knowledge of presses, stamping, rolling, welding and machining processes.
  • Understanding of sheet-metal components, dies, jigs and fixtures will be preferred.
  • Good problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience in automotive components or steel-wheel manufacturing will be an advantage.
