POSITION PURPOSE
The Canada DC Manager recruits, teaches and evaluates the Canada DC team to perform specific functions within the distribution center. This includes managing to the weekly, monthly and annual operational standards, meeting or exceeding budgetary goals and executing projects that support company strategies. This position is extremely visible to the executive management team and a critical link in the success of our Canada operations.
JOB DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of our distribution center including people, process and budget.
- Implement strategies to deliver products to stores faster, more accurately and more cost-effectively by
utilizing partnerships with internal and external resources
- Recruit, lead and teach operations team(s) to enhance performance, increase profitability and develop team members personally and professionally
- Develop and implement department cycle and annual goals for productivity, people development and cost controls
- Manage to meet and exceed to department(s) key performance indicators (KPIs) for speed, accuracy and cost effectiveness through continuous improvement
- Execute and manage projects that support company strategies and department initiatives
- Create annual budget with regular updates to control costs for labor and other line items
- Identify opportunities in process, people and policy and work with internal and external groups to create solutions and align
- Create and enforce the safety program and security practices ensuring all policies are followed
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required in business, supply chain or similar field
- Certifications or commensurate experience in operations management
- Knowledge of business management, accounting, project management and human resource principles and practices
- Five years of supervisory experience leading cross-functional teams
- Experience using and managing distribution center (or related) management systems
- Critical thinking, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate effectively, and build trust with others
- Ability to travel 5-10 days a year
- Ability to work flexible or irregular hours which may include weekends, nights or Holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to sit in stationary position in an office or warehouse environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations.
- Ability to move in an office or warehouse environment in order to access files, gather information or meet with others.
