Security Officer: Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio

Location: Canton, OH | Pay: $14.00| Type: Hourly, Full-Time

Join us in making a meaningful impact in Canton, Ohio! Help keep our people and property safe. As a Security Officer, you'll patrol the building, parking lots, and grounds to keep them secure and to prevent damage or loss of agency and employee property. You'll also help with loss prevention and safety as directed.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled foot patrols of the agency and grounds. Watch for conditions that could cause injury or loss, such as fire, theft, water leaks, spills, or sewage backup.
• Report unusual or suspicious conditions right away to the Supervisor of Corporate Security and Environmental Services or to the police
• Check incoming and outgoing packages and, when directed, employee lunch boxes and packages
• Guard employee entrances at shift changes and escort employees to and from their vehicles when appropriate
• Monitor the digital security camera system
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
• Open and lock doors, windows, and gates on the agency's operating schedule
• Write reports on daily activities and irregularities, such as property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Support operations at the Community Campus and help with new store openings
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all safety policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to stay calm and confident in emergencies and work under pressure
• Good judgment, with attention to detail when assessing situations
• Clear, concise communication skills
• Able to relate to people with understanding to keep the peace
• Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to get certified within 60 days of hire
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance, with regular proof of insurance
