Capacity Manager, Global Procurement
Position Overview
Capacity Manager, Global Procurement, manages the end-to-end capacity planning and validation process for large deal quotes across all business units. Leads a team responsible for analyzing manufacturing capacity, coordinating with plant schedulers, and providing timely capacity approvals to support the pricing and quoting workflow. Targets same-day turnaround on capacity checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capacity analysis for large deal opportunities across Power, Thermal, IT Systems, and Services
- Manage the DOP (Delegation of Pricing) capacity planning queue, prioritizing by quote due date and deal size
- Coordinate with plant schedulers to validate capacity availability and rollout dates
- Interface with pricing teams to provide capacity approvals required for executive sign-off
- Manage capacity reservations and forecast sets in ERP systems (Oracle EBS, CyberPlan/Cybertec)
- Track and report on capacity utilization, open projects, and SLA adherence via Sigma tracker
- Standardize capacity information gathering processes across business units
- Drive process improvements to reduce bid speed cycle time (target: same-day turnaround)
- Communicate directly with Sales on capacity status for urgent/large deals
- Manage team workload, assign capacity owners to projects, and ensure coverage
- Support GSA capacity agreements and reservation processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Pricing, Sales, Operations, Plant Scheduling) to resolve capacity constraints
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in capacity planning, production planning, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle EBS preferred) and planning tools (CyberPlan, Cybertec, or similar)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing scheduling, ATP logic, and demand class management
- Experience working across multiple product lines or business units
- Proficiency in CPQ systems and quoting workflows preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- PMP, APICS/ASCM, or similar certification preferred
