Job Overview
The Capillary Supervisor is the on-site leader responsible for the safe, efficient, and technically correct execution of all capillary string installation, retrieval, and chemical injection operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the client and is accountable for the performance and safety of the full crew. It requires a senior professional capable of independently managing complex well intervention operations across onshore and offshore environments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage execution of capillary jobs on site as per the job program, including supervising rig up/down, pressure testing, conveyance, and string management.
  • Maintain equipment certifications and manage renewals with vendors in a timely manner.
  • Make real-time go/no-go decisions and exercise stop work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
  • Interface with the client’s company representative at key operational steps and obtain approval for any changes (management of change).
  • Prepare post-job reports including pressure test records, string depth confirmation, chemical injection data, non-productive time (NPT) events, and recommendations.
  • Complete all job tickets, wellsite records, and crew timesheets.
  • Conduct crew debriefs and document lessons learned.
  • Lead toolbox talks and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO requirements.
  • Report all near-misses and incidents within 24 hours and participate in root cause investigations.
  • Assign tasks to Operators and Assistant Operators based on competency levels.
Skills
  • Deep technical knowledge of capillary systems, including sizing, metallurgy, pressure ratings, and chemical compatibility.
  • Knowledge of pull testing and high-pressure testing of small-diameter tubing.
  • Knowledge of chemical injection capillary operations.
  • Understanding of well control principles and wellhead integrity management under live well conditions.
  • Ability to read and interpret well schematics, P&IDs, and completion diagrams.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in field environments.
  • Effective client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional report writing capability.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in capillary operations (slickline experience is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of the UAE rigless conveyance market preferred.
  • IWCF or IADC WIPC Level 3 or Level 4 certification (current and valid).
  • Fluent in English.
