Carpenter
Construct, repair, and install wooden fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, and cabinetry in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wooden structures to ensure safety and aesthetic standards.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
Customize furniture and fittings to meet specific hotel design and functionality requirements.
Collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address repair requests promptly.
Inspect wooden structures for damage, rot, or wear and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain and organize carpentry tools and materials for efficient workflow.
Assist in renovation or refurbishment projects by installing or restoring wooden elements.
Coordinate with contractors or suppliers for specialized carpentry tasks when needed.
Your experience and skills include:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry preferred
Proven experience in carpentry, ideally within commercial or hospitality environments
Skilled in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials
Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards relevant to hospitality settings
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and other hotel departments
Flexibility to work various shifts and respond to urgent repair needs
