Casino Auditor
Typical starting pay will fall between $22.00-$25.00 hr.
5 day work week includes work on weekends with week-day days off. Shifts may start by 6am.
- The Casino Auditor will perform various audits of casino operations financial/non-financial transactions and investigate and report discrepancies from internal control policies.
- It will be essential to quickly become familiar with the internal control standards in order to adequately perform and identify improvement opportunities with audit programs.
- Ability to identify problems, discuss, recommend and implement solutions to resolve issues is a requirement.
- The Casino Auditor will be involved in the preparation of daily tax transmittal and other documentation to Missouri Gaming Commission as required.
- Special project assignments will include assignments from Financial Controller on an as needed basis.
- The position will work closely with the Financial Controller, other Department Team members and all other Casino and Hotel personnel.
- Performs daily audits of casino operations financial and non-financial transactions and investigate and report discrepancies from internal control policies.
- Must be familiar with the internal control standards in order to adequately perform and identify improvement opportunities with audit programs.
- Ability to identify problems, discuss, recommend and implement solutions to resolve issues is a requirement.
- Preparation of daily tax transmittal and other documentation to Missouri Gaming Commission as required.
- Special project assignments will include assignments from Controller on an as needed basis.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
- Receives casino and non-casino generated accounting records and reports any deviations from the approved System of Internal Controls and Missouri Gaming Commission Regulations.
- Assist with the gathering of documents requested by internal and external auditors.
- Assists in the maintenance of journal entries for gaming and non-gaming audits and related revenue reports and schedules.
- Create and maintain SOP’s for audit programs.
- Prepares financial and statistical reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
- Responds to customer inquiries (including but not limited to credit card charges, W2-G information, Win/Loss Statements).
- Communicates with all departments on variances, statistics and exceptions to policies and procedures.
- Participation in admission and slot meter reading requests and toke counts.
- SDS System and reports to include: Assets – slot view; Progressive – process reconciliation, slot meter mapping, and process view progressive meters.
- May adjust promotional credits to patron’s accounts due to a discrepancy identified during the audit process.
- Issues comps per internal comping guidelines.
- May perform a dual rate function; refer to Chapter A, standard 1.02 for dual rate guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Must be 21 years of age.
Must be able to obtain Missouri Gaming License.
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must have excellent customer service/communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in data entry, read and interpret output from a computer
- Proficient user of MS Office applications.
- 2 years internal/external audit and financial analysis experience.
- Experience within and understanding the hospitality or gaming industry an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
- Self-starter comfortable working both in a team environment and independently.
- Detail oriented and a quick learner.
- Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs or more.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time or entire shift.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
- Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and responds to visual and aural cues.
- Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping strongly required.
- Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips, 10 key adding machine, money bags, computers, money, etc.).
