Catering Server (Casual)

Role Summary
Reporting to the Catering Operations Manager, the Catering Server will provide food and beverage services to guests with friendliness, enthusiasm, professionalism, and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver consistent professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests.

Assist guests with informative and helpful responses.

Adhere to established policies, procedures, and service standards.

Possess comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage items.

Follow all safety and sanitation protocols when handling food and beverages.

Serve food and beverages, clear tables, and return equipment to designated areas.

Maintain safety in service corridors by keeping areas clear to comply with local fire codes.

Manage catering equipment and linens responsibly.

Address spills and breakages promptly.

Assist with the arrangement and movement of tables and chairs as needed.

Report any issues or complaints to department leaders.

Ensure proper handling, use, and storage of all equipment.

Oversee room setups and teardowns.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High school diploma

Serving It Right certificate

Previous service experience an asset

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Skills & Abilities

Strong communication and organizational skills

Highly responsible and reliable

Capable of performing well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Effective team player with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues

Attentive to guest needs, maintaining composure and courtesy at all times

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts

Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 60 lbs

Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling

Ability to navigate stairs as needed
