Summary
Senior network architect serving as the top-level technical expert designing client/server environments and network infrastructure at Lackland AFB. Day-to-day work spans network integration, engineering standards, modeling/analysis, and advising on database and technology decisions (SQL, Oracle, Sybase). Requires TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.

Target Salary Range*: $165,500-$167,500

Position Overview
Serves as the top-level technical expert responsible for the design and development of client/server environments. Develops client/server strategies and the infrastructure designs necessary to support those strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Client/Server Architecture and Strategy
- Develop client/server system strategies and the infrastructure designs necessary to support them.
- Advise on the selection of technology purchases related to processing, data storage, data access, and application development.
- Establish standards for the organization's client/server relational database structure, including SQL, Oracle, Sybase, and similar technologies.
- Advise management on the feasibility of potential future projects.
Network Integration and Engineering
- Provide technical expertise and assist with network integration and consolidation efforts across multiple network environments.
- Address and resolve complex technical problems related to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems.
- Document engineering standards and lead the development of network architecture, engineering designs, and changes.
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
Technical Analysis and Collaboration
- Interface with customers, vendors, and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements.
- Evaluate current and emerging network technologies, conduct technical assessments, and make recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
- Solve complex problems involving multiple variables.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science [Required].
Experience
- 7 years of relevant experience [Required].
Certifications
- IAT Level II certification [Required].
Clearance
- TS/SCI clearance [Required].
- Must be willing to obtain a CI Poly [Required].
