Job Description

Nine is looking for an experienced Client Service Manager to join our Food & Lifestyle Events team!

In this role, you will lead the strategic servicing, retention, and growth of high-value event partners across Australia’s most trusted publishing brands. You will manage the end-to-end partnership lifecycle - from identifying lucrative opportunities and negotiating terms to executing campaigns and reporting. Sitting at the intersection of commercial, creative, and operational delivery, you will ensure our event partnerships are executed with excellence, strategic intent, and measurable ROI.

This is an exciting opportunity to build trust-based senior relationships, mentor one line report, and elevate servicing standards in a dynamic media landscape.

Day to day you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key commercial partners to drive day-to-day relationship management and renewal strategy.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Editorial, Marketing, Finance, and Event Producers to align creative and commercial deliverables.

  • Oversee the execution of contracted sponsorship benefits, ensuring critical paths and timelines are strictly met.

  • Deliver strategic, data-driven post-event reporting to track campaign performance and highlight clear commercial ROI.

  • Provide direct line management, mentorship, and development planning for the Partnership Coordinator.

  • Lead contract negotiations and manage risk to protect contracted campaign value and boost profitability.

  • Proactively identify upselling pathways and incremental revenue opportunities within live projects.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in partnership management, business development, or B2B sales within media, publishing, or ad-tech.

  • Confidence & Autonomy: You thrive in a self-directed environment, taking full ownership of your portfolio. You confidently lead external partners - acting as an authoritative guide who provides clear direction and drives mutual commercial success.

  • Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to structure complex deals, negotiate contracts, and close agreements that protect and benefit the business.

  • Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the current publishing landscape, digital monetisation models (subscriptions, programmatic advertising, affiliate, branded content), and media consumption trends.

  • Data-Driven: Proficiency in using CRM software and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to measure ROI and inform decision-making.

  • Communication: Exceptional pitching, presenting, and stakeholder management skills and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Partner Management: Demonstrated ability to manage Partners and help them navigate their assets and deliverables to realise a commercial objective. Ability to manage expectations and think ahead.

  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: You understand that small details have a significant commercial impact. From scrutinising complex contracts and billing, to ensuring the accuracy of performance reports and campaign deliverables, you maintain an uncompromising standard of quality.

  • High Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional ability to "read the room" and adapt your approach to different personalities. You build deep, trust-based relationships and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics - both internal and external - with empathy, tact, and resilience.
